- ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆My husband and I had lunch there and we were very concerned about how the had no consideration for the public' health. The waitress had a very bad cold and was coughing in her hand and then would serve her customer without washing her hands. The cook was handling money and and then would prepare foods without washing her hands. We were there for 20 minutes and she did this continuously while we were there.I saw her collecting money at the cash register and then would handle the food with her bare hands . - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★The food at Irene diner is all homemade.The waitress in question has very bad asthma and it gets triggered at times.She coughs info her sleeve. The staff are very aware of the publics health and use every precaution to ensure safety of everyone.I eat there on a daily basis and have for years and not once have I ever been sick. The food and service is top-notch and I've no idea why the previous review was so rude.They obviously don't know good food.Too used to fast food joints I think.I strongly recommend that you try Irenes Diner.You'll enjoy the experience .By Wanda Bennett, April 16, 2017
